Defining Success
Defining Success is a professional development, web series focused on postsecondary student success efforts in the Inland Empire and centers Student Voice in the process. The series highlights the exceptional work of higher education professionals in the Inland Empire (IE) region who are developing promising practices, employing distinct methodologies, addressing regionally important issues, and creating unique programs to serve students and promote success. Core to this work is the student voice, and professionals will partner with an impacted student to share their experience with the success effort. The primary audience is higher education professionals in the region.
Meet Our Host
Dr. Thomas Dickson
Defining Success is hosted by GIA’s Director of Institutional Support, Dr. Thomas Dickson. Dr. Dickson joins GIA after twenty years of higher education work in student success initiatives, academic advising, career counseling, and first-generation supports.
