Covid-19 has drastically altered higher education, delivering a shock to college and university budgets. Leadership has been forced to develop different financial models for on-campus and remote programs – cutting expenses, potentially laying off employees, and eliminating academic programs and sports teams.
Leaders in higher ed are now asking:
– How are college leaders thinking about the next three to five years?
– How has the crisis changed how colleges approach financial planning?
– What operational and structural changes might emerge from this moment?
– And, what lessons can be learned from such previous crises as the Great Recession of 2008?
This virtual event, hosted by Chronicle journalist Eric Kelderman, and joined by leaders from public and private colleges, will examine the role of scenario planning as colleges try to balance the immediate financial impact of Covid-19 with trends in enrollment, public funding, and revenue streams over the next several years.
