Growing Inland Achievement is proud to partner with the Consulate of Mexico in San Bernardino through the IME Becas 2025 program to support students of Mexican descent in the Inland Empire.
Through this collaboration, GIA received $2,500 in matching funds, which will help support five $1,000 scholarships for students in San Bernardino County to cover tuition, fees, and educational materials.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to expanding educational opportunity and reducing financial barriers for first-generation and historically underserved students.
“We are grateful to the Consulate for its support of Inland students,” said Dr. Ashish Vaidya, President and CEO of Growing Inland Achievement.
About IME Becas
IME Becas is an initiative of the Government of Mexico that strengthens partnerships with U.S.-based organizations serving Mexican-origin communities. Since its inception over 15 years ago, IME Becas has provided funding to support access to higher education and adult education for individuals of Mexican heritage living in the United States.
Regional Impact
GIA’s mission is to increase equitable postsecondary attainment across Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. This includes direct investment in students, as well as support for systems and strategies that make college access more equitable and affordable.
The scholarships funded through IME Becas are aligned with GIA’s broader CAIR strategy—Convene, Advocate, Invest, and Research—and reflect a deep commitment to collaboration across sectors.
Together with the Consulate of Mexico, GIA is helping to build pathways to opportunity for Inland students and their families.
