Transparency in Admissions

October 2, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Transparency in Admissions

College admissions has always been a mysterious process. To those on the outside, the holistic and subjective process used by colleges can create an air of distrust. Now, as Covid-19 continues to upend colleges and universities nationwide, the task for many admissions officers is how to recruit and evaluate students in a more transparent way.

Join this virtual forum hosted by Jeff Selingo, author of Who Gets In & Why: A Year Inside College Admissions, to examine the new best practices for recruiting and enrolling prospective students in this uncharted new era.
– How can campuses engage prospective students virtually?
– How can admissions officers assess applicants in the absence of test scores?
– How are they planning for enrollment in the midst of a pandemic?

The panel will include:
– Quinton Clay, Director of Admissions at Northern Illinois University
– Nicole Curvin, Dean of Admissions, Middlebury College
– Mario Silva-Rosa, Director of Undergraduate Admissions, Bentley University
– Steven F. Tello, Ed. D., Vice Provost Graduate, Online & Professional Studies, University of Massachusetts Lowell
