Preparing Instructors for an Uncertain Fall

August 20, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Preparing Instructors for an Uncertain Fall

Colleges will be reopening in just a few weeks. With in-person, remote learning, and hybrid approaches on the horizon, many are asking how colleges are preparing effective online education. More specifically, how will they move beyond replicating courses for online learning, but, instead, redesign and develop high quality courses for distance or hybrid environments?

Join for a virtual forum that explores what it means for institutions to be prepared for the various learning environments and how colleges can best train and support faculty members to make such pivots.

Our panel will examine:
– What dedicated institutional support, including from teaching centers and instructional designers, will they need to make remote learning as effective as face-to-face instruction?
– How can provosts, deans, and department chairs offer the right kind of assistance to ensure that traditional courses are not just replicated online, but redesigned?
– How can colleges prepare faculty members to deliver high quality courses in a hybrid or completely remote environment?
