Limiting Covid Risks With New Technologies

With the start of fall semester just around the corner, many students, faculty and staff will begin heading back to campus within the next few weeks. Colleges, whether fully or partially open, are searching for effective ways to track the health of the campus community from a distance and are increasingly turning to telemedical and artificial-intelligence solutions to help.

Join for a virtual forum discussion where Chronicle senior reporter Alex Kafka will be joined by industry leader experts and college leaders to discuss topics including:
– How to monitor symptoms including temperatures and respiratory rates from a distance
– Using artificial intelligence programs to perform health screenings, check-ins and amplify the impact of in-person visits
– How to coordinate technologies with contact-tracing and quarantines to keep campuses as safe as possible

Speakers:
– Christopher Longhurst, MD, MS, chief information officer and associate chief medical officer for quality and safety, UCSD University of California San Diego Health.
– Mark Coberley, Director of Sports Medicine and Associate Athletics Director, Iowa State University.
– Dr. Eleni Andreopoulou, associate professor of clinical medicine, Weill Cornell Medical Center
– Micah M. Griffin, PhD, MS, MHA, director of health programs, CUNY-Kingsborough Community College
