A report on why adults stop out and what it takes to bring them back
Across the Inland Empire, thousands of adults have left college without completing a degree or certificate. As the region works to increase postsecondary attainment and economic mobility, returning adult learners represents both a critical need and a significant opportunity. This report from Growing Inland Achievement presents findings from a regional study focused on understanding the experiences, challenges, and goals of Inland Empire residents age 25 and older who have left or postponed college.
Grounded in surveys and interviews with returning and prospective adult learners, the report offers insight into the structural, financial, and personal barriers these students face. It also identifies targeted strategies that institutions and policymakers can implement to support reentry and completion for this important student population.
