The third webinar in the Ethnic Studies Informational Series focuses on Asian American Studies. Hosted by State Superintendent Tony Thurmond, it features Dr. Karen Korematsu, educator, civil rights advocate, and daughter of late civil rights icon Fred Korematsu. She’s also the Founder and Executive Director of the Fred T. Korematsu Institute, a nonprofit that educates to advance racial equity, social justice, and human rights for all. It will also include students and members of CDE’s newly formed Youth Advisory Council.
