SUMMARY:Webinar 1: Laying the Groundwork for FAFSA Completion
DESCRIPTION:FAFSA completion is one of the most critical tasks for students planning to pursue a postsecondary degree or credential. Facilitating FAFSA completion under the best of circumstances can be challenging; the pandemic has introduced even more hurdles. Now more than ever\, students need access to the financial resources they deserve so they can pursue a postsecondary degree or credential. FAFSA completion is an equity issue. \nIn response to this critical need\, NCAN is launching the FAFSA Completion Summer Institute Webinar Series. During these three webinars\, participants will learn strategies for starting or enhancing their comprehensive FAFSA completion efforts. Presenters from NCAN member programs that have successfully increased the FAFSA completion rates in their communities will share the strategies that helped them achieve their goals. After each webinar\, attendees will receive planning templates for use with local partners – the goal of the Institute is that each attendee will have the makings of a collaboratively developed plan for increasing FAFSA completion in their community. \nAlthough we encourage participants to attend all three webinars because of the logical sequence and planning opportunities built into the curriculum\, attendees may choose which webinar(s) are most relevant to their community’s needs.
