SUMMARY:TLC Kick-Off Week
DESCRIPTION:Other than health and safety issues\, the only thing we can be certain of is that we will have 4 basic needs that will directly affect our ability to provide a true\, right and just education to every student: \n• We will have less time with students than before\, so we need to know how to make every minute count.\n• We must to have the systems to help students who return at every level\, academically and socioemotionally.\n• We need to know the best ways to use technology as an accelerant.\n• We need a meaningful way to monitor progress to inform our practice. \nOrenda Education has designed research-based\, equity-grounded toolkits for each of these basic needs\, complete with systems\, strategies\, templates\, routines\, outlines\, planning guides and tip sheets—all built for differentiation. This is the TLC Model for Educational Equity and Economic Recovery. There are strands for:\n• Teachers\n• Counselors and other staff helping students with SEL and college/career guidance\n• Administrators\n• Paraprofessionals and other support staff \nExtensive training through the Orenda Academy accompanies the materials to give school staffs full confidence that you will meet the diverse academic and SEL needs of students\, no matter what the future brings.

SUMMARY:Census Stakeholder Convenings
DESCRIPTION:The Census IE coalition has remained committed to ensuring that the Inland Empire gets counted this 2020 Census amidst COVID-19. As a regional coordinator\, the Center for Community and Environmental Justice alongside Riverside Metro Region Census partners\, invite YOU to learn about the census and how you can virtually volunteer in final regional census activities. \nEvery day\, volunteers across the Inland Empire have been calling\, texting and hosting virtual education opportunities in efforts of reaching a full and accurate census count of the region. From their computers\, tablets and phones\, all volunteers have needed is Internet access to encourage our community to fill out their census surveys. Virtually volunteering with CensusIE is a great way to get involved during the pandemic\, meanwhile learning and teaching your family\, friends\, and community members the importance of the census.
