Working Together
For Inland Empire Educational & Economic Success
Growing Inland Achievement (GIA) is a regional K-16 collaborative working to achieve educational and economic equity in the Inland Empire. GIA staff support this work by engaging a cross-sector network of education, government, nonprofit, and business institutions in the Inland Empire, working towards a shared vision of educational and economic success. GIA’s vision is that by 2035, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties will be widely recognized for their educated workforce, thriving communities, and vibrant economy that creates prosperity for all.
GIA follows a collective impact framework, bringing people together in a structured way to achieve social change. Collective impact is a network of community members, organizations, and institutions who advance equity by learning together, aligning, and integrating their actions to achieve population and systems-level change.
We research issues and opportunities, develop resources, and connect diverse stakeholders across the two-county region of the Inland Empire to accelerate equitable educational and economic outcomes for Black, Latinx, and Indigenous populations and those from low-income backgrounds.
GIA is proud to be one of six intermediary organizations in the nation selected by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to lead postsecondary transformation efforts at more than 250 U.S. colleges and universities through 2026. This collaboration is the largest transformation effort of its kind at this scale in American higher education.
GIA also serves as the Inland Empire Regional Consortium facilitator for #CaliforniansForAll College Corps, a college service program led by California Volunteers, Office of the Governor to create debt-free pathways for low-income students who commit to volunteer service in climate action, K-12 education, or food insecurity issues for an academic year. Eight Inland Empire campuses are currently participating in the program, with GIA as the consortium facilitator providing support with recruitment, training, planning, evaluation, and events.
Additionally, GIA is the Inland Empire Regional Coordinator for the state of California’s Cash for College (C4C) program, managed by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC), to help youth access the information and resources needed to enroll in higher education, which ultimately fuels California’s economic prosperity. Inland Empire C4C programs and workshops hosted by GIA and partners promote various financial aid opportunities, including grants, scholarships, work-study jobs, and loans.
